HOW TO GET IN AND OUT THE CAR
Earlier during the disease, on numerous occasions while I was driving Alan tried to jump out of the car; so since he was having difficulty getting in/out because it was so low, I finally traded it in and purchased an SUV, where the seat was just the right height for his bottom. I have to mention here that getting Alan backwards and forwards to his Neurologist was proving extremely difficult – just getting him out of bed, showered and dressed; let alone getting him in the car. Then I discovered by placing a bin liner on the seat; manuevring him backwards until his bottom was resting on the edge, I was able to lift his legs and turn his feet around to the floor. I could then pull the bin liner and get him correctly positioned. Getting him out of the car, I did it in reverse.
